> Co-Parenting

Parenting Apart is an educational program to teach divorcing parents how to keep their children out of adult conflicts. This program was mandated by the Tennessee State Legislature for all divorcing parents with children under the age of 18. Classes are held each month in Greene County at the Extension Office. Divorcing couples may not take the course together. Please see our calendar for the dates of upcoming classes.

> TNCEP

The Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education program provides nutrition education to children, adults and families in Greene County. A local coalition, coordinates educational efforts to teach food stamp eligible families how to stretch their food dollar and make healthy choices.

Program activities include:
- Project Boxes - Supplemental Nutrition Education for teachers to use to enhance reading,
science, math, social studies.
- Edible English- Special nutrition themed resources for ESL teachers and English Language
Learners
-Special Presentations- Extension staff can come once or on a regular basis to provide
educational programs and taste tests for your class, afterschool group, club or health fair event.


> FCE (Family & Community Education)

Greene County has 10 FCE Clubs (formerly known as home demonstration clubs) whose mission is education, leadership and community service. Clubs meet once a month in their local community for educational programs, fellowship, community service and other special interest projects.

> Familias Sanas

Familias Sanas (Healthy Families) is a bimonthly newsletter for Spanish speaking parents. The newsletter covers topics such as child development, nutrition, parenting, health and safety and local community events for parents and families.

> Team Up Tennessee

In partnership with the Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening Program and many other local partners. UT extension provides educational outreach to women throughout Greene County. Program activities include special presentations and educational displays about breast and cervical cancer screening and prevention as well as education about the HPV virus and vaccine.

> Tai Chi from the Arthritis Foundation

A new, joint-safe Tai Chi program designed to improve the quality of life for people with arthritis. The benefits of Tai Chi may include reduced pain and stiffness, improved concentration and memory, greater balance, increased flexibility, enhanced muscle strength, along with improved ability to cope with stress and depression. This is a 4 week course starting June 23rd. It will be held at the UT Extension office every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There is a $48 fee for the full 8 session program.
